ROAD TRIPPIN’

• The Colorado Rockies continue their six-game road trip this evening with their second of 19 scheduled games in 2022 against the Giants.

• Coming off a 2–1 series loss to the Diamondbacks in Arizona … the series loss was just the second of the season for Colorado, previously being swept in Philadelphia April 25–28.

ROCKIE ROAD

• The Rockies are 5–8 on the road in 2022 … in 2021, did not win their fifth road game until June 9 at Miami, when they were 5–23.

• The only runs the Rockies scored in their last 26 innings in Arizona prior to this series was with a four-run rally in the top of the ninth inning on Saturday to beat the Diamondbacks, 4–1.

• Since Sept. 1 of last season, the Rockies have gone 14–12 on the road, a .538 winning percentage that ranks eighth in the Majors, fourth in the National League.

• Colorado won four of its first five games on the road this season, but has since dropped seven of eight away from Coors Field … has slashed .223/.285/.332 and hit .217 with runners in scoring position through those eight contests.

• On the road over 13 games (5–8), Colorado’s starters are 2–7 with a 3.91 ERA (69.0 IP, 30 ER), while the bullpen is 3–1 with a 6.15 clip (41.0 IP, 28 ER).

HIP HIP, JOSÉ!

• José Iglesias went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles and two RBI last night in San Francisco as Colorado’s eighth-hole hitter … .421 (16-for-38) average batting eighth is tied with the Mets’ Jeff McNeil for the highest in the Majors.

• Batting .329 (27-for-82) overall, 11th-best in the Majors, sixth in the NL (min. 80 at-bats) … has struck out just nine times this season, a 10.1% strikeout rate that is the ninth-lowest in the Majors (min. 80 at-bats).

• Among shortstops, leads the NL in batting, OBP (.382) and doubles (eight), and is tied for second in hits (27).

BAY WATCH

• The Rockies are 216–266 all-time against the Giants, including 86–157 in the Golden City since 1993.

• Colorado was 4–15 vs. San Francisco last season, 2–7 in Denver and 2–8 at Oracle Park.

• The Rockies have lost their last eight games vs. the Giants, including six in a row at home … are 3–11 thought their last 14 at Oracle Park since Sept. 22, 2020 and 19–35 in San Francisco since 2016.

• Since the beginning of the 2015 season, Colorado trails San Francisco overall, 61–64 … over the past eight years (2014–21), Colorado has won the season series five times.

HOME IS WHERE THE RUNS ARE

• The Rockies have scored two or more runs at home in 78-straight games dating back to May 12, 2021 … this is the longest streak in National League history and the fifth longest since 1900 (longest: 88 games, 1949 Boston Red Sox).

• During this stretch, Colorado has scored two runs at home nine times while scoring 10 or more runs nine times.

• Colorado is 49–29 (.628) at home since the streak began, the second-best winning percentage in the National League (Dodgers, 59–20, .747) and the fifth-best in the Majors.

GO JOE OR GO HOME

• Connor Joe has put together a five-game hitting streak (.333/.364/.429) and a nine-game on-base streak (.314/.400/.400).

• Has a hit in 22 of 27 games this season and has reached in all but three contests.

• Batting .321 (17-for-53) at home compared to .250 (14-for-56) on the road, however, has hit three of his four home runs away from Coors Field and is 6-for-17 (.354) through his last four road games.

PENT UP

• The Rockies’ bullpen allowed two earned runs through 26.2 innings through the first six games of the season, helping the Rockies to a 4–2 record out of the gate … the 0.68 ERA through this span led the Majors.

• Since April 15, the ‘pen has allowed runs in 19 of 23 games … during that span, has posted a 6.53 ERA (71.2 IP, 52 ER) with 42 walks and 55 strikeouts … Rockies are 12–11 through this stretch, 9-for-10 in save opportunities.

• Closer Daniel Bard has gone 1–0 with nine saves in 11 opportunities, posting a 1.64 ERA (11.0 IP, 2 ER) with one walk and 14 strikeouts … nine saves are third in the NL and were the fourth-most in franchise history through the first 28 team games, the most since Wade Davis notched 10 saves in 2018.

• Rockies reliever Tyler Kinley’s 0.79 ERA (11.1 IP, 1 ER) is the lowest ERA by a reliever through 13 games to start a season since Adam Ottavino’s 0.66 mark (13.2 IP, 1 ER) in 2018.

IN THE ZONE

• C.J. Cron leads the NL in home runs (nine) and extra-base hits (17), ranks second in slugging (.627) and total bases (69), ranks third in OPS (.977), is tied for third in RBI (24), ranks sixth in hits (33) and is tied for 11th in average (.311).

• Since Aug. 1, 2021, Cron is slashing .324/.388/.637 with 25 doubles, one triple, 23 home runs and 73 RBI in 84 games … over that span, he leads the NL in RBI, ranks second in total bases (195), and home runs and ranks fourth in hits (99).

• In 43 games at home over that span (since Aug. 1, 2021), Cron is slashing .396/.456/.780 with 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 52 RBI.

MINOR LEAGUE SPOTLIGHT

• Among Pacific Coast league pitchers, right-hander Ryan Feltner ranks first in strikeouts (37), is tied for first in wins (four), fourth in innings pitched (30.1)sixth in WHIP (1.15), seventh in opponent average (.216) and eighth in ERA (3.26).
